Survey Deadline

The Schuetz Survey ended on Aug. 31, 2008.   Many thanks to the 189 respondents .  Survey results are being compiled and will be presented to appropriate Village staff and committees.

Background

In February, 2008, the Friends received a $50,000.00 grant from the Madison Community Foundation to help pay for the purchase of the Schuetz property.  The Friends gave the grant to the Village, and the Schuetz purchase was completed on March 31, 2008. 

The Madison Community Foundation grant reduced the Village’s share of the purchase price to under $150,000.00.  The Schuetz property has become McFarland’s 31st park/conservancy area.  If you would like background information regarding the Schuetz property, click here.  If you would like to see the Schuetz Master Plan, click here.

As part of the grant process, Friends of McFarland Parks Inc.  committed to the recently-completed survey of McFarland residents, business owners, and classroom teachers regarding their vision for the Schuetz property.
