A Community of Parks

McFarland PD has issued the following information about a suspicious vehicle possibly involved in daytime burglaries in their community. Residents are asked to keep an extra watch should this vehicle be seen in McFarland.

Over the past several weeks, we have had multiple day time burglaries (late afternoon, early evening) in which the private residence was entered by force. We received information from a neighbor about a suspicious vehicle that may be involved. It is a 1993 or 1994 dark brown Dodge 4x4 full size,
single cab pick-up. It has a full chrome front grill and no cover on the
box.  Should the vehicle be observed contact the 911 Center.
Please pass this information on to others and suggest they register at www.mcfarlandwatch.com

Thank you to the McFarland Lioness and all the other volunteers who helped to plant our donated bulbs in a variety of community gardens.  Spring will bring us a lovely reminder of how valuable community action and cooperation can be.

McFarland's Village Board has approved the dog park plan.  You can read the entire proposal here.

McDaniel Park Grand Re-Opening
Photos by Bob Mecum

More than 50 adults and lots of happy children enjoyed a cool, windy day on the shore of Lake Waubesa.  Members of the McFarland Sailing Club, the Lions Club, Friends of McFarland Parks, and others celebrated the Grand Re-Opening of McDaniel Park.  The weather prevented the planned sailboat race, but both the Bake and Bulb Sales were active.

Attendees enjoyed the music of The Redbirds.  Thanks to John Fabke and Paul Kienitz for their lively performance, perfect for a summer afternoon.  Thanks also to Johanna Fabke for her generous donation, and to J&B Liquor on Hwy. 51 for their gracious donation of ice.

If you've not seen the revitalized McDaniel Park, you owe yourself a visit.  It's home to a vigorous rain garden, a lovely pier and beach, and a unique, multi-faceted playground your kids will love.
